Gandara Park Neighborhood
About Gandara Park
A neighborhood with deep roots, mature trees, families, renters, homeowners, and daily life worth protecting.
Who We Are
Gandara Park sits in Santa Monica's Pico Neighborhood, a diverse and historically rooted community shaped by families, renters, homeowners, small businesses, schools, parks, and long-time residents. Our streets are not abstract parcels on a zoning map. They are where children walk, neighbors greet each other, people walk dogs, and families build daily routines.
Why the Neighborhood Matters
The area around Gandara Park and Delaware Avenue has a distinctive feel: mature trees, modest-scale homes, front yards, shade, and a quieter residential pattern despite being close to major infrastructure like the 10 freeway and Metro corridor. That green canopy and walkable scale are part of the neighborhood's health and livability.
Why This Site Exists
Planning decisions can be difficult to follow. Documents are often buried in City systems, deadlines move quickly, and state laws can be confusing. This site exists to make information easier to find, summarize issues in plain language, and help neighbors participate before decisions are made.
Independent Resident Effort
Gandara Park Neighborhood is maintained by residents and volunteers. We are independent of the City of Santa Monica. We aim to be factual, constructive, and persistent.
